I understand your frustration for the names straight trust and straight way. Maybe straight thrust would be a more honsest name.
I like "God's Garden." That's very evocative. Well, I'm just glad you didn't end up with "Sword of Thrust."
I imagine the thought of growing "fruit" in a garden might put some people off. I suppose we could provide additional suggestions, but it would appear we would be questioning authority, and in my experience, that's a discussion killer.
But wait! I can't resist providng a suggestion because I just noticed that my word verification is "luvcry". Maybe that wouldn't work for you new ministry, but it's god to be good for something!
Alex, yes, I think you are right. Straight Thrust is really the most honest name for Marvin's ministry--especially if there are straight ministers thrusting their sexuality and lifestyles on others.
Kurt, Yeah, I kinda liked God's Garden too.
KJ, yeah, nothing fruity will do, and I think that is the problem that Marvin's ministers had with it. So Straight Way it is. Sounds like some weird supermarket where one buys heterosexually oriented goods.
Oh man! Just proofed my earlier contribution. What I meant to say was, "Maybe that wouldn't work for YOUR new minister, but it's GOT to be good for something."
Of course, in the correct context, I would never spell "God" with a lower case 'g'. I am fairly certain that God was in the selection of my word verification for that post which currently reads "ooxnojjs" which is really not good for much.
luvcry is a beautiful name for something. Probably not an ex-gay ministry though.
Hey Marvin! I've finally had a chance to catch up with your audioblogs, it sounds like you're diving headlong into another adventure. I hope you will be able to gain understanding and respect from the other people in the church. Make sure you do explain that despite the name, you con't make people straight. :(
